How do I open my Mobile Mini?

What are your containers and offices made from?

Mobile Mini’s containers, offices, and doors are a heavy-duty, all-steel design — virtually fire and vandal resistant to keep your items safe and secure. 


How many Mobile Mini storage containers or ground-level offices should I order?

You can order as many as you need. Mobile Mini containers and offices come in over 100 configurations and can be customized to fit your exact needs. Whether you need one, two, or ten units, you’ll find the right containers or offices for you. 


I’m not sure if I can fill an entire container? What should I do?

Whether you need a large or small container, Mobile Mini offers the widest variety of options to meet your needs. We also offer supplies to help secure your items within your container that we can deliver along with your storage unit. 


Can I use a regular lock on a Mobile Mini storage or ground-level office unit?

Yes, you can use a regular lock on a Mobile Mini. However, we highly recommend only using “disc” style locks, or our ultra-secure ContainerGuard Lock® to maintain the highest level of security for your items. 


Do Mobile Mini containers require any special care?

We strongly recommend regularly inspecting your Mobile Mini and any other equipment rented from Mobile Mini for any damage, water entry, or nonoperative or unsafe conditions. Contact the Mobile Mini Service Department at 866.344.4092 for any repairs needed to prevent damage to your items. Also, grease or oil hinges and strike plates as needed to maintain ease of operation. 


Are there any items or materials that cannot be stored in a Mobile Mini?

Yes. Mobile Mini does not allow the storage of any items that are:

  • Illegal
  • Toxic
  • Waste
  • Hazardous
  • Contaminated
  • Controlled
  • Restricted
  • Explosive
  • Flammable
  • Chemical
  • Paint
  • Inherently Dangerous 
     

Also, do not lock any living things inside a Mobile Mini, including humans and animals. See the terms and conditions of your contract for a complete list of prohibited items.


Who is responsible for any tickets or fines on my Mobile Mini?

You are responsible for any tickets, fines, impounding fees, barricades, and/or other related costs associated with your Mobile Mini’s chassis, modular truck, or other rented equipment located, stored, or parked at your location or within your control. 


Will a Mobile Mini do any damage to my property?

Our friendly, professional drivers and staff will do their best to place the container or office with the utmost care to avoid any damage to your property. However, if you want your container placed in an unpaved area, there is a risk of damage. 


Are there any winter placement restrictions for Mobile Mini containers?

Mobile Mini requires deliver/pickup locations to be free of snow and ice to ensure safety. The delivery area should have a 3’ clearance on each side of the container location, with enough of a clearing for our trucks to back into to deliver or pick up the unit.  


How much clearance do I need to place a Mobile Mini at my location?

  • A clearance of 60 linear feet is required for our 5’, 10’, or 20’ containers
  • A clearance of 120 linear feet is required for our 35’, and 40’ containers

Our trucks require a 21’ vertical clearance for loading and unloading containers. We recommend places with a high enough clearance for a truck to move in and out of your location easily, away from power lines and branches. We can also provide a FREE site check, where one of our drivers will come out and determine the most appropriate location. 


Can I fit multiple Mobile Minis in my driveway?

Possibly. The number of containers that can be placed in your driveway depends on the size of your driveway and the size of the containers you select. For delivery, we require a clearance area that can accommodate the size of the truck AND a container. We can also provide a FREE site check, where one of our drivers will come out and determine what will work best. 


How do I find out about local regulations?

Every city — along with communities and neighborhoods — had different rules regarding where and how long you can place your Mobile Mini at your location. Check with your local municipality to inquire about regulations regarding usage of storage containers. 


How long can I keep my Mobile Mini at my location?

Unless your city or neighborhood has rules regarding how long a Mobile Mini can be placed at your location, you can keep your Mobile Mini at your location for as long as you need. 


What are the rules and regulations for placing a Mobile Mini in a parking lot?

We can place a Mobile Mini in a parking space, or any area of a parking lot that has a enough clearance for a truck and the container you choose. However, you will need to check with the property manager for any regulations regarding storage containers or portable offices in your lot. We can also do a FREE site check, where one of our drivers will come out and determine what will work best. 


Where should I place my Mobile Mini?

We recommend placing your Mobile Mini in an area free from wires, power lines, and low branches or trees. Pick a place that will be convenient for you to pack your things. For delivery, we require enough space for both the truck AND the container. We can do a FREE site check for you, where one of our drivers will come out and determine what will work best. 


Do I need to clean my Mobile Mini before you pick it up?

Yes. Make sure you remove your lock and ALL of your personal property from the Mobile MIni, along with any trash. Failure to leave a Mobile Mini in a clean condition for the next customer may result in an additional cleanup fee. 

 


What should I do in the event of a break-in or attempted break-in?

While we pride ourselves on providing the most secure storage and office units in the business, should someone attempt to break in or successfully break into your unit, first call the police. Then call Mobile Mini at 866.344.4092 so our service department can promptly assess and repair any damage. 


What times do you deliver Mobile Minis?

Our professional CDL drivers begin deliveries as early as 7 a.m., and continue until the last scheduled delivery is complete each day, Monday-Friday. 


I only need a storage unit or mobile office for a few weeks or months. Can I still use your services?

Of course! Whether you need service for a few weeks, a few months, or a few years, Mobile Mini is the storage solution experts. 


How do I schedule a pickup for my storage container or office?

When you need to have your unit relocated, re-delivered, or picked up at your location, call your local Mobile Mini location at least 10 days in advance to ensure a date that works for you. You can also schedule a pickup online through MMConnect™, our customer service portal. Availability is limited and deliveries and pickups are on a first come, first served basis. It is very important that you receive a confirmation number when you call the branch so we have a clear record of when you called.


I need more than one Mobile Mini, but there isn’t enough room in front of my home or business. Can you stagger the delivery?

Mobile Mini proudly offers flexible delivery and pickup of our containers and offices to accommodate your needs. For complete details and help planning, call and speak to a member of our team. 


How soon are you able to deliver?

We can usually deliver within 24-72 hours.


Does someone need to be onsite when the Mobile Mini is delivered?

Yes. Someone needs to be onsite when the unit is placed. Our driver will show you how the locking system works and provide you with copies of your paperwork.


What if I can’t be at the location for the delivery or pickup?

You can set up a “no one home for pickup or delivery” option, which allows your unit to be delivered without you being there at the time of delivery or pickup. Ask your Mobile Mini Salesperson for complete details.
